- July 2009 - Bionomics engaged Hoosier Oncology Group headquartered in Indianapolis, IN (USA) to evaluate the efficacy of BNC105 in a Phase II clinical trial in patients with renal cell carcinoma.

June 2009 Financial highlights
- Revenues for the year include receipts under Bionomics' agreement with Merck Serono which can be expected to become more substantial as licensed compounds progress through clinical development and to market. In addition, revenues from contract research services provided by Bionomics' wholly owned European subsidiary, Neurofit, increased by 108% to $1,943,000.
- As a result of tight cost controls and careful costs management, non R&D expenses, including administration, financing costs, occupancy and compliance, were reduced by 27% relative to last financial year.
- In 2008/2009 Bionomics increased investment in its key development programs, BNC105 for the treatment of cancer and BNC210 for the treatment of anxiety. Both programs have progressed in line with projections, with BNC105 to enter into Phase II clinical trial in the US in patients with kidney cancer and BNC210 undergoing a Phase I study at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Research and development (R&D) expenses for the year were $8,104,000, compared to $7,624,000 in the previous year.
- In line with expectations, Bionomics' cash position at 30 June 2009 was $4,757,000. Revenues for the period, excluding grant income, were $4,296,496 and the Company incurred a loss for the period of $ 6,862,000.
